Surrounded by impressive Tyrolean mountain peaks this house blends into its setting with its distinctly alpine architectural style and perpetuates existing tales and storys. The shape of the roof and the wooden balconies echo design elements found in old farmhouses. Harmony with the surroundings - that's how to achieve it.
The interior design for this private residential project faced two challenges: First, it had to continue the spirit of the building's exterior. Second, the traditional chalet style should be modernised, dusted off and brought into the present day.
How was this done? A well-balanced mix of materials was the first step. Lots of wood on floors, walls and ceilings - but mostly in a subtle grey colour and nicely polished. As a result, it comes across less dominant than what we saw in recent years. Designers often pair the wood with white walls, thus giving the interior a modern airiness.
