Bayerwaldhof

Liebenstein, Bad Kötzting (D)

A little slice of paradise full of favourite spots – this is what the Mühlbauer family had in mind with their hotel in the Bavarian forest. And they have successfully managed to create a down-to-earth yet contemporary ambience

The new suites are the cherry on top of this delightful venue. An extension has been added and the roof rotated so that it now tapers to a high, sharp angle. This is simultaneously a traditional style of roof in the region and also a clear contemporary line.

The high roof is airy and creates expansiveness. At the same time, a hotel room should receive guests with a sense of warmth and cosiness. Architect Stefan Ghetta developed the corresponding ideas and material concepts, while we took care of the implementation.

Panels are an important design element. The way they've been used here, across the entire height of the room and upholstered with a mix of different fabrics, is rare to see. In combination with the wood, they introduce just the kind of warmth and comfort that guests desire.

It's not just the new suites receiving plenty of praise, but also the redesigned areas in the restaurant, which bring a classy clarity to the atmosphere through colours and fabrics. Room to breathe for our guests and the Bayerwaldhof team.
