Decoration is back!
Five hand-picked trends
straight from the expo

Decoration polarises. It's a perfect topic for a pro and con discussion. And it certainly doesn't leave anyone cold; everyone has a clear opinion. Anyone who loves decoration is happy about any occasion for a cushion in a new colour, a new vase, a candle or a figurine. Those who consider decoration unnecessary also have the regular opportunity to criticise it.

Our job is to track down the latest trends. In our professional role, we evaluate how much decoration each ambience can tolerate. Next, we suggest the appropriate options. A major factor: Are we talking about a hotel lobby or a private living room?

Five trends — and how we approach them.

Including interior insights & project highlights

Our trend team is constantly on the lookout for hot it-pieces. When it comes to decoration, you better be quick. Who would want something in their living room that's already everywhere? Find out what they spotted at the shows. Decoration is back.

Not just as the finishing touch, but as the main act. In 2025, interior design is bold, multi-layered and sensual. It's all about an interaction of colours, materials, and textures.

Decorating is no longer just about ‘making a room beautiful’. It is a statement. An attitude. And above all, it's about playing with the ambience.

Trend #01: Animalprints

Wild patterns, reinterpreted

Zebra, leopard and python - long since made it into fashion. Animal prints will find their way into the interior in 2025. They are subtle, elegant and surprisingly versatile. They spice up monochrome settings, create contrasts and evoke a sense of unspoilt nature and wildness.

As cushion cases, rugs or highlights on upholstered furniture - this is how we showcase animal prints - always with a feel for balance and context. Combined with natural materials like linen or leather, we create calm rooms with a touch of the exotic.

INTERIOR INSIGHT

Animal prints work well when they fit into the overall picture.

They should never play the leading role, but rather be a confident supporting actor.

Trend #02:
Round shapes

Gentle lines for a cosier feel

Well-known, popular and no longer a hot trend: curves, bends and organic silhouettes in our world of furniture and objects. They create inviting and embracing spaces. And thei are well on their way to becoming a classic.

Tables, lamps, furniture - curves mean peace and tranquillity. They open up spaces without obstructing them and add a touch of harmony. What's especially exciting: playing with contrasts - when round shapes meet sturdy materials such as stone or wood.

Project Spotlight:
Neuhaus Zillertal Resort

At the Neuhaus Zillertal Resort, organic shapes reinterpret alpine charm.

Upholstered furniture with rounded shapes add with a gentle urban touch, as do round lampshades and soft lines whenit comes to creating an atmosphere of understated elegance. For a cosy, vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

Trend #03:
Bouclé fabrics

Tempting textures

In reality, this is no longer a trend - we have been seeing lots of bouclé in interior design for some time now. There are few materials designers prefer when it comes to integrating a sensual feel into rooms as much as bouclé. The delicate loops encourage you both to look and to feel. In 2025, bouclé is more colourful, bolder and more diverse - from warm natural tones to rich rust or cool blue.

Upholstered furniture, cushions and plaids made of bouclé are cosy companions and create islands of comfort.

Project Spotlight:
Wieser Residences

Bouclé also plays a leading role in the Wieser Residences in Alto Adige.

There, this fabric adds an alpine element to the rooms, with its attractive look and feel. The texture is reminiscent of structures in the woods: like soft moss, tree bark or stone.

Trend #04:
Evergreen Decor

Nature is moving in

Plants have been a permanent element of interior design for a long time. Evergreen decor means more than just a few leaves in a jar - it's about making a lively statement and finding a stylish selection of plants for a particular room.

Plants invite nature into your home. They create a haven of peace and can also improve the indoor climate. Combined with rough materials such as stone or concrete, plants show their full decorative potential.

INTERIOR INSIGHT

Less is more. Start by carefully selecting the ideal spot for your plants and testing out their effect in the room.

Take your time and live with the plants you choose. You can always add more later.

Trend #05:
Colour courage

Playing with the ambience

Neutral colours always work. We like them - as a stage for the spectacle of life. And suddenly colours are becoming more self-confident than ever. Rich ochre, deep burgundy, dark petrol and the whole range of bright shades: they are becoming bold statements and create rooms with a distinct character. However, the point is not a wild mix of colours, but rather clever accents and harmonious palettes.

The secret is to achieve a perfect balance: using blocks of colour deliberately, allowing materials to play with colour and choosing tones that add warmth and depth.

Project Spotlight:
Hotel Goldener Berg

The Hotel Goldener Berg shows how colours can cleverly shape the character of a room.

More than just accentuating the architecture, they reflect the power of colour as a design tool, an untamed zest for life, openness, and the courage to explore new, unconventional paths. Colour variety is a choice for interior design projects not afraid to show personality.

Conclusion
Decorating in 2025:

More than decorating - playing with the senses

In 2025, decoration has little to do with dust catchers or other bric-a-brac. It becomes the art of deliberately layering – of materials, shapes and colours. Textures that touch. Patterns that tell storys. Colours that make rooms shine.

The new desire to decorate means that rooms may once again display personality. They can tell a story, excite and surprise. 2025 is all about making your own style visible – through bold combinations, high-quality materials and a subtle feel for detail.
